Thomas Choi

Founder and Executive Chairman

Tom is Chairman of Airspace Internet Exchange and a well-respected veteran and entrepreneur in the satellite and RF wireless communications industries. As a former Satellite Executive of the Year in 2012, he was honored with induction into Satellite Hall of Fame in 2017. Prior to founding Curvalux, Tom was founder of Speedcast and ABS with earlier management stints at Hughes Communications and Rockwell International.

Richard Pak

Chief Executive Officer

Richard is the CEO of Airspace Internet Exchange and Curvalux. He has spent more than 25 years as an entrepreneur and senior executive in the IT, Telecom and Satellite sectors. Richard is also one of the original pioneers of internet broadcasting and streaming technologies at Broadcast.com and Yahoo! along with his most recent role as Chief Development Officer at ABS, a global satellite operator.

Gur Ballas

Chief Technology Officer

Gur has 30 years of experience in research and development of advanced wireless communication systems. Before Curvalux, he worked for 22 years in leading positions at Ceragon Networks and in various senior R&D roles.

Charlie Lee

Chief Financial Officer

Prior to joining Curvalux, Charlie was the Managing Partner of Lee Capital Partners, an advisory and consultancy firm focused on private equity investments, cross border M&A, and capital structure advisory. Charlie also founded JPMorgan’s investment banking capital structure and ratings advisory practice in New York and was head of the Asia Pacific region for the practice based in Hong Kong. Charlie has a BS and MBA in Finance from New York University Stern School of Business.

Ron Ng

Chief Business Officer

Ron worked throughout Asia for over 20 years building mobile networks 2G-5G. Before joining Curvalux, he worked as Senior VP of Integrated Master Planning at Globe Telecom. At Globe, Ron transformed the network and expanded their service from 30 million to 94 million subscribers from 2013 to 2019. This resulted in a sharp rise of market share from 28% to 54% and record breaking revenues of USD $3.1B with double digit growth in 2019. Ron built their E2E network blueprint (access, transport, core, NFV and OSS) and optimized yearly network CAPEX of USD $1.5B to support Globe’s position as #1 mobile and broadband network.

Dr Junaid Syed

SVP, Engineering & Operations

Junaid is veteran and expert in microwave antenna design, wireless communications development and innovation commercialization. As a former member of ETSI TM4 committee and FWCC/FCC, he assisted in the development of new regulatory standards for antennas. He is actively involved with key MNOs in US, EU, ME, Asia and Africa to advise their transmission teams on modernizing networks. He is also Associate Professor at National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) Pakistan and Associate Adjunct Professor at Michigan State University. His most recent roles were leading the microwave business of CommScope and Rosenberger.

Niv Magen

SVP, Software Engineering

Niv previously led a team of 15 developers of a cyber security product from proof on concept to production stage to acquisition exit ($60MM) where he delivered on web applications, hardware and software vulnerability research and proprietary hardware wireless sensors. He has also led algorithmic research in the field of cellular network and WiFi network optimization, system architecture and the development of complicated python software applications involving noSQL DBs (Mongo, Elasticsearch) and working with variety of wireless and cellular technologies: 2G,3G,4G. 802.11 a/b/g/n/p.

Aldine Ringor

SVP, Engineering

Aldine has over 20 years experience in the telecommunication industry in the fields of network engineering, operations, and program management. He has led teams that design, implement, and operate ground infrastructure required for TT&C, broadcast and commercial services to include teleports, service platforms, and terrestrial networks. Aldine has held roles at AirSpaceIX, and was a pioneer at ABS, SpeedCast and ASIX Teleport.

Paul Firth

Head of UK and General Counsel

Paul is a senior commercial lawyer with over 35 years post-qualification experience. His background before joining Curvalux was primarily working in major commercial law firms in the UK and held a number of senior management positions; including a role as the UK Managing Partner for DLA Piper. In 2020 Paul helped establish Curvalux’s UK based business in Sheffield. His role is to advise and have an oversight on all legal issues and legal requirements for Curvalux and to manage the running of the UK business.

Kent Scholla

Chief Marketing Officer

Kent leads Curvalux's marketing efforts and is based out of New York City.

Previously, Kent led sales and advertising marketing for Informa, PLC, a publicly-traded B2B digital advertising, publishing, business intelligence, and exhibitions group based in London. Kent also was Head of Digital Marketing for two ed-tech start-ups where his teams managed brand marketing, demand generation, email automation, SMS/text and mobile app campaigns, social media, and PR efforts.
